Jesse

I was always fond of Jesse, my faithful pupil and friend in the Talamasca. She was one of the most gifted among us, and might easily have followed in my footsteps, had that been the life she wished to lead. However, despite my fervent attempts to dissuade her, she had something very different in mind.

She is a direct descendent of Maharet, who kept a loving eye on all of her progeny over the centuries, and shared her home with Jesse in her childhood years. After falling into fascination with the study of the vampire world, Jesse was drawn both to Lestat, and to the enigmatic memories of her childhood. Once she became aware that the powerful blood of her ancestry flowed through her veins, she was lost to the Talamasca and the rest of her mortal life forever.

In the end, it was I who would follow in her footsteps.
